We ran a 400W metal halide bulb and the LE975LED 140W portable LED floodlight
at the same time and measured the temperature of the light using an infrared camera.
The differences were astounding. While both lights got to their maximum temperature
within an hour, the 400W metal halide was much hotter than the LE975LED.

The LE975LED reached a maximum of just under 100° F / 34° C, or the equivalent of a
nice warm handshake. The 400W metal halide bulb reached a maximum of just under
300° F / 149° C, or the equivalent of the inside of an oven.
They both put out an equivalent amount of useable light. Which would you rather work
